By Dove, www.TarotwithLove.com  I was doing some organizing the day before yesterday and opened an old book, and to my surprise I found a maple leaf, and then another and another.  Three maple leaves.  I only vaguely recall putting them in there several years ago, while living in a wonderful rural area that I may have mentioned on here before.  So, of course, coming upon such a thing has meaning :)

But I didn’t ponder that so much in that moment, was just wondering where to put them.  Back in the book, maybe in a special box or something?  I’ve been trying to hone up the Feng Shui in my apartment and I didn’t want any dead leaves to mess up the Prosperity or Relationship areas :) so I decided the Angel or “Helpful People” area would be safe.  And there was a nice sunny spot on a little table there in which to place them.  They looked kinda cute there :)  So off I went about my business.

I glanced over at them again this morning and decided to find out the dream symbol meaning of the maple leaf in this here “dream” that is this life :)  And here’s what I found…

======================
To see a maple leaf in your dream, represents each of the five senses and what it has to offer. It also denotes a helping or protective hand.
=======================

My favorite Feng Shui book is called “Move Your Stuff, Change Your Life,” written by a sharp, funny, and no-nonsense girl named Karen Rauch Carter.  I’ve had her book for years.  She calls it the “Helpful People and Travel” area.   I often reference it as the “Angel Corner.”  When you walk in the front door, it’s the corner of the whole house to your right.  And what’s one tool she considers a “power tool” in this area?  A picture of, or some other form of a hand, representing a helpful hand.   My maple leaves, helpful hands :)

How cool is that.  I’ve noticed before how I have just intuitively placed things in the appropriate area without knowing or conisidering that the energy of it is good in that particular area. I also found another site that said the maple leaf was a symbol of love.  Hmm, that’s also wonderful and very synchronous.  I’ve been getting the Tarot’s sweet Two of Cups a lot lately as well, a message of love and/or very harmonious interactions.  So these are all very sweet messages for the “new beginnings” I’m currently moving toward…

So what a sweet thing that the Universe has given me with these lovely little pressed maple leaves for my Angel Corner :)

There seems to be a bit of heightened “magic” this morning.  The Crow has visited me a couple of times this week, also this morning.  He cawed 7 times, twice.  I was lying in bed and I was thinking what an odd number of caws that was for my Crow baby ;)  But it was very synchronous.  Two of my French friends on here both mentioned the Chariot card (Tarot) to me in the last couple of days.  The Chariot is one of the major arcana cards, number 7.

It’s a good card, and I think it speaks of victory, but I really need to use some of its “hard control” on myself to reach my goals.  So off I go, to apply some of of that there “hard,” but balanced, self-discipline :)

Peace,
Dove

    hi Dove,
I found an olive leaf in an old guide book about Italy the day before yesterday. All dry and cracked. I think my sister had put it there when she visited the country a while back. I used to have dreams of moving to Italy, but ended up (for now) in France. I didn’t think twice about the leaf until I read your post just now.

I looked up the symbolism of the olive, and found everywhere pictures of doves ;) holding olive branches and the word “peace”. Also olive-leaf wreaths were given to winners in the original Olympic games - symbolising VICTORY(!). For me, It says something about a new relationship I have just struck up with someone in the U.S. who has given me a helping hand too.

I think that this also says a lot about recent nagging feelings I have had about wanting to travel again and move on to somewhere new. Hence the fact i was looking at a book on Italy!

I think that the olive leave was trying to tell me just to be calm, peaceful, stay put and not abandon all the things we have built up here in France, we have been very successful, even ‘victorious’ in our move here, so why waste it all to start again somewhere new?

Unfortunately, I took the leaf out of the book (where my kids proceeded to tear it in two - perhaps they don’t want to move on again?), before I saw what page it was wedged into - perhaps if I look at the pages I may see the imprint of the leaf somewhere - that would be even more illuminating, to find out exactly where in Italy it was stuck! I’m off to see now…..

    WOW thanks for this post!

Hold that last comment - I just looked at the leaf again - its not an olive leaf at all! its a FIG leaf. I should have known! It looks like this:
    http://www.figtreerestaurantbath.co.uk/images/figLeaf.jpg

not to be confused with this of course:

http://www.fotosearch.com/thumb/ART/ART192/SNS055.jpg which is a maple leaf!
(I hope these images show up, I’m not too good with html!)

I am struggling to find any symbolism connected to the fig-leaf apart from ‘modesty in the garden of Eden’, but I came across a Roman (Italian)possible meaning, which connects the fig leaf to the HEART.

But I think that we can actually make our own conclusion here, that this leaf is probably the European equivalent of the maple leaf’s helping hand, just by looking at shape alone!

I looked at the book again and the leaf was stuck in a page detailing a place near Venice, p.261, that has a huge flood wall called “Moses” that can be employed in case of floods in the area. ??

More interestingly, my sister had written a credit card number on the inside flap of the book, which when added up (four digits at a time) comes to - 7.

I actually like the fact that I mistook the leaf for an olive - maybe this says more about my subconscious thoughts then I realise.

Hey, Tawny, you’re gettin’ so good at this symbolism stuff, heh ;)

Okay, guess what? Logical, it doesn’t always have to be. Now doesn’t that make it fun? lol

The only thing that matters, in any given moment, with regard to seeing messages around us, in “our world” is what our own eyes or heart sees, or “thinks/feels” something is, in that particular moment. And I think you’re already getting that.

I’ve gotten lotsa very accurate messages in this way. Think of it like this, there was a reason we saw it or understood it that way :) As we go along, we learn that what we see, everything we see, is “gospel,” is special…and in that we become stronger and stronger in trusting ourselves, our own wisdom. And that empowers us. We become “lighter” with that self-trust.
We take it all so casually (read: fearlessly), and with that, it all continues to open up for us more and more… And messages are invariably multi-layered.

You first thought it was an olive leaf, and so it was :) You don’t just “throw back” a message because you later discover that you supposedly saw or understood it “wrong” the first time. Ya’ didn’t get it wrong, that was the first message you were being given :) And what a cool thing to see, an olive leaf! Awesome, that is so synchronous with me!! Yay! :)

And then, it became a fig leaf! Way cool, I love that too. It looks like you got messages of peace and love from that one little leaf :) Awesome.

And Moses! I’m always going around saying my favorite Moses phrase, “Let my people go!” haha!

Everything you said, that’s the message and maybe more! Good stuff :)

And how cool it is that you came upon an old leaf about the same time I did, with all the other syncs we’ve been experiencing. It’s amazin’… a whole lotta magic goin’ on :)

Haha! You’re gonna love this, Tawny :) This morning right after I got to work, a big truck pulled up outside, two guys were in it and the driver had his hand up, forming what looked like the peace sign :) Palm facing me, it was almost like he pulled up (at an unusual angle that put it all directly in front of me) just so he could do the peace sign for me, lol I then thought, hey, “V” for victory! And I kept waiting for him to put his hand down, but bunches of minutes went by and his hand stayed put. I pointed it out to a supervisor and he said he felt the guy just had his fingers hanging from the edge of the window. I said, yeah, but his hand/fingers haven’t moved from that position for a long time, it’s weird. He went on about his business and then I pointed it out to another salesman here, who looked, and kept watching, and saw that the hand wasn’t moving. He thought it was “bazaar.” The hand was so still as the peace sign that I thought maybe the guy just hand some fake hand sitting there, lol And his hand was big, really long fingers, very distinct “V” :)

And then finally the fingers did move a bit and then went right back to their original position. Yep, it was just like my supervisor had said…apparently that was a comfy position for him.

    :)
