Playin’ Tag :: 7 Random and/or Weird Things About Me
November 10, 2007
By Dove, www.TarotwithLove.com So I’ve been “tagged,” and just learned what that was, lol Okay, Muse, here ya’ go :)
=====================================
:: 7 Random and/or Weird Things about Dove ::
1) I’m into “woo-woo” out the wazoo :) Ya’ know, metaphysical kinda things, a passion for the Tarot — I “believe in” pretty much everything, lol Seriously, astrology, numerology and other fun things – most of which I used to think were totally goofy — I have, for years now, seen the truth in them. And the more ya’ believe it, the more ya’ see it :) Is that awesome or what? ;) And not so unlike what an old book tells us. It’s all about what ya’ believe :)
2) I could spend hours and hours and hours in re-sale/consignment or “thrift” stores. Omg, it’s like a treasure hunt to me :) The majority of it, depending on the store, can be, well, junk. BUT when ya’ find that jewel, oh-baby, what a rush :) And the “hunt” is all part of the fun. Some of my prizes from the past – a luscious pair of velvet Donna Karan leggings for $10 (ret. $100), a floral silk scarf (made in Italy) I’d paid $18 for from Spiegel – I found several of them in a bin, 69 cents each…
3) I love eBay — no, I truly looooove eBay ;) For pretty much the same reasons as indicated above. My favorite jean jacket, Ralph Lauren, $5 — including shipping :) Okay, I’m starting to get light-headed, too much talk of thrifting and eBaying, lol ;)
4) I was once encouraged to become a lawyer per one of my teachers (lawyers) of some paralegal classes I was taking. I made the highest grades in his classes, and he said I had “higher order” thinking — I liked that :) So I considered it for about a nano-second, even talked to the dean of a law school. But the dean painted a reality that snapped me outta that insanity right quick :) I do have a keen interest in the law though. Knowledge is power :)
5) I think animals are pure magic…look at those faces…oh-ma-gawd, they’re amazing! And birds, they fly! :) Lordy, I don’t know how people can just sit around taking it all for granted… I could sit in a wooded area for hours and just watch. Pure joy.
6) I’m a natural redhead, but people invariably seem to feel compelled to ask me if it’s natural — and/or will conspicuously look at my roots! Geez, that’s annoying.
7) I almost never watch TV, I sometimes crave silence, I can’t imagine life without laughter, and I like pumpkin seeds…and goat milk…and other weird healthfood kinda things :)

This is fascinating, dove!
#1 - if this makes you weird, I’m right there with you! I do all sorts of things with reality. And I’ve looked at your wonderful website, so I did know this about you. Yay!
#s 2&3 - Really?!?
#4 - I would NOT have guessed that! On second thought, you do express a logical and informed mind, and I could see you could go that way if you wished!
#5 - I am with you there. Woods and animals. sigh.
#6 - I’ll bet that is annoying. Somehow red is the least believable hair color. no fair!
#7 - Hey, health food make you…healthy. not weird, right? Laughter is the best! And you are weird according to the majority of western culture if you don’t watch TV. I’m extremely selective about what I do watch. Have you noticed there are more metaphysical-type shows lately?
This is great! It’s nice to get to know a little more about you. Take care.

Hi Muse :)
You do all sorts of things with reality? Awesome, I’d love to hear more about that :)
lol @ “yay!” ;)
“Really?!?” Yes :) I’m and up-and-coming minimalist, but hey, I still like to look cute, lol And I also love eBay because it’s a step toward freedom. A lot of people (including artists) have become their own boss via eBay. I love that :) And I feel strongly that I was “guided” to eBay during some exceedingly lean (read, dangerous) times in the past. eBay selling has fed me… So that makes it hard not to love it :) I love anything that puts more freedom, control and prosperity back into our lives, into our own hands.
Yep, and here’s a bit of trivia :) Natural red hair is the most rare hair color. Followed by natural blonde.
Well, tell my co-workers that healthfood isn’t weird. They crinkle up their noses every time they see me eating :) One of them told me not long ago that she was going to go eat some “real food” after seeing me eating applesauce and walnuts. lol Yeah, “real food,” like some of them there mcnugget thingees, lol
I don’t have cable, so I haven’t a clue what the programs are like now. The last time I watched there was a cool show about a “medium.” I liked that one :) But a few years back (maybe 2000/2001?), there was a fabulous new show called “The Others.” No one seems to remember that one, but me. I loooooved it! I definitely would categorize myself as one of “The Others.” It was an awesome show, and I could initially relate to their experiences, but then it did start getting a bit weird(er). But the first few episodes were awesome…it had the strangest final episode though. I was so disappointed it was cancelled, I kept thinking/hoping it would come back. But I suppose there weren’t enough people “out there” that could relate to it. Yet :) And possibly it scared the crap outta (”offended”) many religious folk, heh
Peace,
Dove

I like the ”woo-woo out the wazoo” the most cause I have a strong interest in esoteric stuff….So, keep believing and seeing it!!!

Thanks CV! I’d love to hear about your “esoteric stuff” sometime :)
November 12, 2007 at 5:50 am
CV, do you? Hmmm we have more in common than I thought!
dove, I remember “The Others”! Actually I’d forgotten it ’til you mentioned it. I remember the main character was a really interesting college girl who was exploring her gifts, and she met the others, and….
I wonder if it’s available on DVD. I was really bummed when it was canceled. There were several shows like that which didn’t get an audience (Did you ever see Witchblade?) but now, they are staying on the air! And people are watching them! It speaks to me of a shift in consciousness.

Oh cool, somebody that remembers “The Others”! Yay! ;) I had started to think I just imagined it, lol But I remember the very first episode, it was such a rush. I could so relate to their experiences — especially the kinda wacko guy :) One of my favorite parts was where they were trying to find the answer to something, can’t remember what now, but all of sudden the wacko one sees the answer around him in the physical — and it all happened very quickly. It was something like a message on the side of a truck that passed him, he turned and there was another message on a street sign, then he glanced at like a license plate or something — and yet another piece of the answer. He got it, just like that — zip, zap, ping! haha!
Ah, I mean that was such a rush for me — cause I do that!! I get things in the physical just like that! It’s one of the multitudinous reasons I know this is all “magic.” It so is, it’s all around us and yet all in our minds/hearts :) Be open to it and it’s there.
I don’t remember Witchblade, but sounds interesting :)
I agree, it’s happening — maybe not as quickly as some of us would like, but we’re “waking up” :) Yay! ;)

Hi Dove,
To make a short story…I do have a close friend who is psychic and he kind of had visions concerning an heath issue of mine..Last January, talking to him over the phone he advised me to go and get my endocrine glands check..I did make an appointment with an endocrinologist but cancelled it…Three weeks ago, I received my routine blood tests that confirmed that I was suffering from hypothyroidism…So, my friend vision was accurate….I am so amazed about his gift…I do myself premonitory dreams from time to time especially when I am in a crisis state but don’t have any visions per say like my friend does…Anyway, I would like to get a reading from u one day…

Hi CV
What I think is interesting is how we’ll each have these strong areas in our “psychic ability.” Some see health issues more readily than others, or visions, or seeing things in another’s “aura,” psychic smell or touch, etc. We might be able to do a lot of that, but often there will be one or two particularly strong areas. I “hear” and just “know” and see things more than I feel them in my body…so mine seems to be more mental, where for others it may be more of a physical feeling…
I’ve had visions, prophetic dreams — literal and symbolic. I’ve never seen an aura :) But I’d like too. In fact, I believe we can develop a lot of these things, but I’ve never made the effort to do so yet. My efforts have all been toward the Tarot, which seems to be my special strength. But I can do a very accurate reading without cards or anything — the cards just give me more confidence.
I don’t “read minds,” or readily pick up stuff about people like some do. I have to get still, I have to close my eyes to see a vision (although recently I’ve started to get “flashes” of visions even with my eyes open). I usually have to ask to get info about others. But I often do “hear” things about my own life without getting still, and symbolism is a strong thing for me. I see things very readily in the physical.
Often several things will overlap at once. Like yesterday, I did a 3-card spread and got a Tower card in the future position. As I looked at the card with concern, a siren blared outside, a fire truck going passed my apartment. I get the “Tower” message through emergency vehicles sometimes, in the right moment… I thought, “Oh, shit” regarding that synchronicity. The Unvierse was putting a strong emphasis on this Tower message. And sure enough, today, a potent Tower experience…that I’m still wobbly from as I type this. An added synchronicity was my speaking of the Tower just yesteday on Muse’s blog :) Damn. Anyway, I’ll be fine — just as I said on Muse’s blog, the Star card always follows that wicked old Tower event.
When I first started doing readings (with no cards or anything), I got a lot of visions — some very vague, others amazingly clear. Once I saw mountains in Colorado so clearly, it was like I was there, it was sooo beautiful. I’ve never been to Colorado, so I didn’t know in that moment that it was Colorado.
That was probably the most clear vision I’ve ever gotten. And when I saw it, I wasn’t doing a reading. I was getting a haircut :) I was sleepy, this new stylist was cutting my hair, and I just closed my eyes for a second. And all of a sudden, there it was, this beautiful scene. I mean, it was breathtakingly beautiful — and so stunningly clear in my mind’s eye. I thought to myself that maybe it had something to do with the hairstylist. Within about a minute, someone came into the room and spoke to the stylist, “Hey, I hear you’re going on vacation.” The stylist, still cutting on my hair, said, “Yeah, we’re going skiing…Colorado.” :)
I learned several things from that experience. I think that vision was so clear because I was under no pressure, I wasn’t doing a reading — I was very calm, aka no fear was there. Neither from me, nor him. Fear blocks our intuition. That’s a good thing for all of us to take note of. I also feel I so readily picked up that energy from him, because he was pumped about it, about going on vacation. High, joyful energy, with no fear to muck it up. Powerful stuff :)

Hi Dove,
I am so amazed by all ur ‘’spychic abilities” I wish I could see things but I don’t and it’s fine…We can’t have it all….Like I mentionned in previous posts mine happen thru dreams…Last spring, I had a big anxiety attack and I did not have a family doctor at that time…I was dreaming so much and I could remember all of them and it feels like I was dreaming awake…I ever got some interpreted to know the meanings…So, I was basically freaking out over my symptoms and imagined having a life frightening desease.. But, I mean I kind of knew I had something serious as I had rectal bleeding and feel very insure about that in real life.. Talking not having family doctor back in last spring…In this particular dream, I was in my mom and dad’s family doctor office… I was asking him if my rectal bleeding was something serious.. He looked at me and he goes ” Don’t worry you just have an inflammation” and I asked him..If I would have a deadly disease, do u think I will feel it?…And he said to me..”Of course! you will feel it and when you arrived in the office you were so lively…He reassured me and sure enough I underwent an exam and I was diagnosed with a proctitis which is an inflammation of the lining of the rectum…Bingo!! I like to have these once and awhile they are evidence that the beyond exists…

It sounds like dreaming may be your strong area. “Lucid dreaming,” I have books on how to develop this ability, but I haven’t read ‘em yet — I have books on so many things, so I get major overwhelm when thinking about sitting down and reading a book :) I actually don’t remember my dreams that often, so when I do, I really take notice. Mine are often prophetic. Also if I ask for a dream before I go to sleep, then I’ll often remember it. It’s all about “asking” for (or otherwise indicating) what we want :) I just tend to not give it that much attention. I should though, dreams are potent messengers. Hmmm, I may do a post on some dreams I’ve had.
With regard to getting visions, I remember being given a directive by a metaphysical teacher years ago that I feel spurred this ability. And it’s very simple. She said to close your eyes and see in your mind some room in your house — walk around the room in your mind, see all the detail. We all can do that. Doing that kinda opens your awareness that you already CAN see things in your mind. That can be the seed to seeing more… With one’s intuition, the best thing you can remember is that if you think you are seeing something, knowing something, then you probably are. Trust it. It’s all about trusting oneself, knowing that wisdom within you is worthy :)

Dove,
So, means that the difference between visualization and visions is the intuition part…Interesting, because the first time I have met my psychic friend his first impression about me was that I must be a psychic or I must have a lot of water signs in my sky charts..Not according to my chart as they are my lowest 6,67% but I am sagittarius ascending sagittarius, scorpio..In the astrology jargon, I am an hybrid.. loll!! A very rare combination, apparently..Anyway, while doing my reading he then confirmed that my psychic abilities were more thru dreams…But, according to what ur are saying, I could have visions if I could trust more my abilities that I can do it…Right?

What has fascinated me throughout my journey with all of this is how all of it keeps telling me the same thing. My astrology, numerology, animal totems, a plethora of other psychics…all saying the same thing. That my “thing” is in the area of psychic ability, “intuition,” metaphysics or “spirituality” — and teaching these things to others. So that’s a potent life purpose thing for me. It seems I came into this world already kinda “knowing” stuff and having a natural ability in this area. And it seems clear that I am to help teach others that they too can do this. It may come naturally for some, but we ALL have the potential within us to do it.
Yes, you totally can do it :) We can all do anything that we can get ourselves to BELIEVE we can do. Always remember how potent your beliefs are. People think that sounds easy, but they don’t quite understand. It’s not easy, because we have certain beliefs already burned into our brain, into our subconscious (the most challenging to overcome). But if you can override those, create new beliefs, then you can change your life. Again, it can be quite a challenge. But yes, if you can first be open to the possibility, then trust in your heart (feel the truth of it in your heart regularly), and keep telling yourself regularly that you can do this, then you will be on your way to making it happen :)
Visualization is simply showing you that you literally can see things in your mind. Close your eyes, think about something and you can “see” it. Not clearly like you see with your eyes open, but you can see things that you draw up from memory. Pair that obvious ability with your openness and belief that you can have intuitive visions, and trust (a biggee) when you believe that you’re seeing something — and there ya’ go :)
Now I have had visions, like the Colorado one, where it was amazingly close to seeing just like with my eyes open, but again I’ve only done that once. But I have had other pretty clear visions. Now, you may never get to the point where you can see them any more clearly than with just your visualization or memory sight, but they still will hold intuitive messages in them. Even if you only see them vaguely. Sometimes it’s a combination of a very vague vision and a “knowing.” And I totally can’t explain that “knowing” thing. Ya’ just know :) Trusting is the challenge.

I remember wishing so hard I didn’t have red hair as a kid…
I got my wish sort of, I’m going bald :)

Geez, donviti, I hate that when that happens, lol Looks like your eyeballs got all big and yellow-fied too, haha! ;)
