Religion Separates Us, Hence it Weakens Us, Keeps Us Weak
October 9, 2007
By Dove, www.TarotwithLove.com This post was spurred by a blog that I’ve been reading a bit recently. I admire her efforts to enlighten us to what’s truly going on in our world… But I was disappointed to see her recent blog filled with biblical quotes/references. John Lennon’s statement, “Imagine no religion,” popped into my mind. A powerfully significant and wise statement.
Per her blog, “Love thy neighbor,” I agree, of course. But in a time when it is oh-so crucial that we unite against those who are determined to keep us enslaved, the religion thing is counter-productive in what would seem to be her strong objective to unite the freedom-minded ones… Religion does nothing but separate us — and it always has. We don’t need religion to tell us to love our neighbor… We don’t need it for anything. No one can be forced or feared into truly being “good,” that’s a sham.
One of the worst things about religion is that it teaches us (from childhood — easy to brainwash) that we are nothing without “it.” (”God,” the church) And if one truly ponders that, you can see how it creates both self-loathing and, of course, loathing of those who do not march to this drummer. Again, it SEPARATES us. Remember the ”divided, we fall” thing?
And the irony is, that the “God” so many believe to be this mighty being outside of us is in fact WITHIN us. It is us. Imagine :) Imagine if that which we are at our core is this mighty “thing” that is spoken of in that old book. Would we then need the church if this were true? No. And do you think that would benefit those who wish to keep us enslaved? It would not keep us living by their rules, most of which teach us to hate that which we are. If we were to discover that this power (”God”) has always been within us, what would that bring? Remember how this power was always with Dorothy in the Wizard of Oz? :) There are deep reasons that our subconscious creates such movies :) It represents the truth…symbolic truth is all around us — including the old book :) Imagine.
Can you imagine how quickly the ties that bind us, the enslavement, would fall away if this were actually true? What would “they” do without their slaves? The thing is, it is true. But it means nothing unless we know it’s true. Think about it, how powerful is a magician if he doesn’t know that he’s a magician, if he doesn’t even know that he has a wand — or how to use it? :) A lion can be raised to believe he is a sheep… And THIS is what has happened to US.
When you hear this reference to the “awakening,” this is what it references. It’s time for us to “wake up,” to be “reborn” into being the powerful beings that we have always had the power to be, that we have always been. The “savior” is within us, the “Christ” is within us…it is us. WE are the “second coming” :) Cool, eh? ;) And also very empowering if you can grasp the truth of it. Just in imagining this to be the truth, doesn’t that feel amazing? That we are it! We are the Power! Doesn’t that make you breathe a breath of strength, just in considering this to be the truth? :)
You need no religion, no arrogant “God,” to have this power, it is what we are. None of their brand of worshipping required :) “Worshipping” references loving oneself…and you can imagine how much easier it is to love yourself once you know what you truly are…this absolutely perfect “godness” at your core — regardless of what your self-loathing or other “fate” has created on the outside. That’s all an illusion, it means nothing as far as your true value (except to the advertisers who would have you believe your material self must be what they deem “perfect” or “fashionable” for you to be valuable…) On the other hand, how easy is it to love a “wretch” or a “sinner” or something that it nothing without something else, something that has no real power without something else? Not very. And self-love is crucial, crucial so as to love others, and that flow of love is profoundly empowering :) “Children of God”? You betcha’ — little “gods” growing into the knowledge of their own “God” power :)
No, they can’t allow us to know this absolute truth. That the POWER that is spoken of in church, in the old book, is actually speaking of that which is WITHIN us. It is us. That would mean we don’t need THEM. It would mean we are already PERFECT at the core of our being. We don’t need to do or be anything — we don’t need to be “saved.” We are our own “savior.” When we pray, we are actually praying to ourselves :) And when those prayers are “answered,” the manifestation that occurred was fueled from our own energy — our “spirit,” if you will. Imagine.
If we could simply pull ourselves out of the brainwashing of all the lies spewed from religion…look at it for what it truly is. It’s just another controlling system born from an old book of symbolic messages twisted into something very wrong, and in those wicked interpretations are the “false prophets” of which they themselves speak. How better to protect themselves from that label, eh?
But this one controlling system, religion, is so insidious that it has had a tremendously detrimental effect on our lives, our world. It most assuredly keeps us separate, and it most assuredly encourages us to believe that we are “less” unless we do this or that — believe this or that. It encourages us to believe that our power is outside of us, when the fact is it is within each of us. We will be at our most powerful when we unite in that knowledge. But until then and for sure, spewing religion into the mix of our efforts to unite and regain our freedom, is a losing game in my view — at best, one that’s just limping along.
Peace,
Dove

What a brilliant blog. I TOTALLY agree 100%! In fact I wrote a blog last week about this exact topic because I’ve been reading “The New Revelations: A Conversation with God”. Originally I was repelled by the title, but it’s on the exact same topic we’re blogging about. If you haven’t read it, I highly recommend you pick it up. Have a great day.

I remember all the horror that was generated by the lyrics “imagine…and no religion too”
I was kind of shocked by this notion the first time I heard it. But it grew on me, and still does. Imagine..getting to a state of mind where we did not have to organize ourselves into dogmatic tribes. Really enjoyed this post!

Hi Muse
I know what ya’ mean, I remember feeling the same about it as a bible-pounding kid…from age 10 into my teens :) It’s definitely shocking to the brainwashed system (our brain/heart) to consider that what we’re believing isn’t right… But the thing is, I never deeply thought (I was a kid) about what I was believing, I just wanted to be “good.” I don’t think I ever truly believed what the church was saying (I did often think that what they were saying made no sense — the reason I ultimately left, still in my teens), I just wanted to believe it, because “they” said it was true. And, of course, I wanted heaven over the other place :) And that’s their hook. And, again, children are easy to hook — and the hell thing keeps most ppl hooked even as they grow into adulthood (despite the contradiction of it all…and the “mysterious ways” BS).
And so many of us are hooked — hell, it’s infused into our laws and is consequently the reason we don’t even have (nor have we ever had) basic or legal freedom. It has us by the throat in so many ways. But I’m confident, even as bad as things look now, that the true “righteousness” that’s within us will overcome. I think we’re healing now — true healing invariably gets ugly before our beauty shines again :) All the poison has to come to the surface and be dealt with in any type of true healing.
The thing that frustrates me is that so many otherwise intelligent people are holding onto this religion thing. When their strongest response to a very rational question or debate about it is a potent suggestion that if I’m wrong, I’m gonna pay for eternity :) That’s no rational argument, it’s a clear reflection of the hook that’s holding them. Not rational thinking, but fear (brainwashed).
It’s simply burned into our brains that we are powerless, that we need them, we need something outside of us to be okay, to be strong. Our government is just a symbolic reflection of that powerful belief within us. And it’s such a wicked lie. And it’s not gonna be easy to shake. When we change that belief, something that I believe is happening now, slowly but surely, our lives will change dramatically (so, of course, we’re resisting it). The “old” will naturally begin to crumble…as you can see in our world now. It represents healing, healing toward ultimate freedom. Real freedom. The “outer” will always (always) reflect the “inner.”
Just in knowing that truth, it’s very empowering. We change us on a deep level, and we change the world. It’s all one thing, and this is a highly significant aspect of our being that we will come to know. When ya’ begin to see this truth, it all begins to make so much sense. Love thy neighbor, indeed :)
Peace,
Dove
